The Zhou Yi is the oldest of the Chinese classics and the root of every school of Chinese metaphysics. Its core is a set of 64 hexagrams - each built from six yin/yang lines - together with their judgments and line texts. All 64 are below, in the original with our translation.
What you read here is the public-domain original, translated at this library following our bilingual glossary. Where the received text has gaps or variants, we mark them honestly rather than smoothing them over.
How to read this · 讀法
A hexagram is six lines stacked from the bottom up. Each line is either yang (a solid line, called "9") or yin (a broken line, called "6"). The judgment (卦辭) sums up the whole hexagram; the line texts (爻辭) walk through its six stages. Line translations are being added hexagram by hexagram - the judgments of all 64 are below.

The Ten Wings are the later commentaries - on the images, the judgments, the Great Treatise, and the ordering of the hexagrams. They are where the Zhou Yi becomes philosophy. Full texts of the Ten Wings are coming in a dedicated page; the judgments above are the classic core.
